How do I use the Bunk1 Service?
We have set up a special page to address Bunk1 questions, click here to visit our Bunk1 Page.
What is a camp bank?
Our camp bank works just like a bank account. Each camper receives a number that is their bank account for the week. We take their money at registration to start their account, and they can spend their money as they please. They are able to take out small amounts of pocket change for sodas and arcade games. This system helps prevent theft and loss. The children do not have to carry any cash on them. We keep it safe for them and at the end of the week, anything they have not spent is returned to them.
Campers are able to set-up their bank accounts before arriving at camp. If you would like to set-up your child’s account please send in a check, (after April 1st money order or cashier’s check) with your child’s name on the check mark for camp account to the office.
Where do the campers stay?
The campers stay in dorms with approximately 15 to 30 other campers around the same age. We average 1 counselor for every 15 campers per dormitory. The children may request to stay with their friends when they fill out the camp application. We do our best to meet these requests. All housing facilities are equipped with bathrooms and running water. Check out our housing section for futher questions.
What Olympians will be there this summer?

When can I sign up?
You can sign up as soon as you receive a new brochure or by downloading a Gymnastics or Action Sports Camp Registration form now. The brochure is usually available before or right after Christmas. When you finish reading the brochure, all you will need to do is select the dates to attend, fill out the registration and send it in along with the registration fee. You will receive a confirmation packet, which will include a medical form, liability waiver, transportation form, and Lake Owen Times. The medical form/liability waiver needs to be filled out immediately and returned to Lake Owen in order to activate enrollment. If your camper’s medical form is not received by the time they attend their scheduled session they will not be able to participate until a completed medical form is received. There is no deadline to register – however sessions may fill quickly. Campers are registered on a first come first served basis by mail so it is important to send in your completed application and registration fee as soon as possible. As long as there is space available we will accept applications until the day a session begins. Visit our registration section for more information.
What time can campers arrive at camp?
Campers arrive SUNDAY. Do Not Expect to check-in before 3:00 pm so arrive between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00. Camp ends the following Saturday. All campers must be off camp grounds by 9:00 am, unless they are staying for an additional week.

Can parents come and visit?
Yes, all parents and visitors are welcome. We suggest that you make your visit between noon and 6:00 pm but we will be happy to accommodate you at any time. You must first sign-in at the camp office upon arrival. Since we are a private camp, we are not open to the public.
Can I call and talk to someone in the camp office?
Yes, the phone number is 715-798-3785. The camp office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Fridays from 9:00 - 12:00 pm during the fall and through December. During the Spring the office hours are 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. During the summer our office is open everyday from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm. (CST)
How does camp handle prescription medications?
Our medical staff will collect and dispense the medications your child brings to camp as directed. All medications must be turned in to the camp nurse at Check-In on Sunday. Medication must be given to the nurse in original prescription containers.
What should I do if my child gets homesick?
Do not be alarmed if your child gets homesick since homesickness is very normal for campers of all ages. We suggest you tell them you love them, and that their feelings are perfectly normal. Then encourage them to go to their counselor or any staff member and tell them how they are feeling. Discourage phone calls home, especially at bedtime. Phone calls often perpetuate homesickness. Campers will not be tracked down for a phone call unless the phone call is an emergency. You may leave a message for the camper to return a call if the campers needs to be reached. When/if your child does call, keep the conversation short and upbeat. Please avoid telling the camper how much they will be missed or how empty the house will be without them. Instill confidence that they will get along just fine without you, that they will enjoy many fun activities and will meet new friends. If your child relays any concerns, call us immediately. Unfortunately our staff can’t always recognize that a child is homesick and we want to be told so we can give them the extra attention they need as soon as possible. If progress is not made at this point please call our office at (715) 798-3785 and ask for the housing director. We realize this can be very difficult to go through as a parent but we will do all we can to see that your child leaves camp with a positive experience.
